Ministries and Outreach

We believe in putting love into action, and service is at the core of our mission. You can read about some of our previous and ongoing ministries below. We would also love to have you participate! You can talk with us on a Sunday morning or contact the church office at 805-498-4812.

Dinner for the Hungry

Members of King of Glory serve the community by  feeding the less fortunate of Conejo Valley every 3rd Saturday of the month at 6:30 PM at St. Julie's Catholic Church (volunteers arrive at 5:30 PM). We prepare a full course meal consisting of entrée, vegetable, salad, bread, fruit, dessert and drink. We enjoy the fellowship with all the attendees. The greatest reward comes when one of the guests says "I won’t see you anymore because I have a job." It is a fun and rewarding evening for all of us who help. You can participate by providing food only, or by helping to serve the meal or both. A sign up sheet is on a clip board in the Welcome Center.

World Hunger Sunday

On the first Sunday of each month King of Glory collects food donations to go to a local food pantry. Financial donations can also be made to the ELCA World Hunger Campaign, which you can learn more about here. Donation envelopes are enclosed in the bulletin, and food can be placed in front of the communion table. This is a valuable way for us to serve our neighbors and the world.

Adopt an Angel

Each year after Thanksgiving, Lutheran Social Services gives us the names of children in families that cannot afford Christmas presents for their children. Members of the congregation select a child and purchase the suggested gift for them. Lutheran Social Services collects the gifts from us in mid December and distributes them to the needed families. In a very simple way King of Glory has helped provide a Merry Christmas for these children.

Other Ministries

King of Glory has been active in many other ministries. These have included volunteering at local charitable organizations, participating in fundraising walks, collecting eye glasses, and making school kits for children in need (pictured left). We believe it is important to serve one another in a variety of different ways. Please contact the church office if you have any questions or would like to participate. We would love to have you.
