Welcome
to King of Glory Lutheran Church and Pre-School
We
have all seen the bumper sticker that says, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
At
King of Glory, we feel everybody needs a village, not
just children. To live life well, to laugh well and to
love well and to suffer well and to mourn well all take
a village.
We
are a village.
It’s
hard to imagine a village in our ever-flashing and
beeping lives, but we found a way to be one: we gather
together.
We
gather to laugh and celebrate (and laugh). We gather to
welcome. We gather to remember. We gather to sing and
shout. We gather to bring our children together. We
gather to learn from those who have been there before.
We gather to share what little we have. We gather to
hold each other to account. We gather to say goodbye.
We
are a village of ordinary people gathered by the
extraordinary love of the Living God.
We
trust God’s Spirit is present in our failures and in our
pain.
We
believe God will bring blessings and healing and peace
from what’s broken in our lives because we have seen it
before.
We
believe in love. Love has made us a village.
We
struggle to receive this love, this unearned mercy, and
to live forgiven, serving the needs of strangers,
enemies, and neighbors.
As
Christians, we confess the Triune God and celebrate the
life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
As
Lutherans, we hold firm to the promise of God’s grace:
God’s love for us will not be earned and cannot be
forfeit.
We gather to hear again about this wondrous love and to
worship the Living God on
Sunday mornings at 9:30
with
Children’s time during the sermon.
We
also celebrate communion every week. King of Glory is a
congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (ELCA).
We
also serve out of love, and our KOG village has been
serving the children and parents of the Conejo Valley
for seventeen years through our pre-school.
King
of Glory Lutheran Pre-School provides a developmental
approach to learning in a Christian environment. Our
King’s Kids are the heart of our village.
We
believe life is good. And life is hard. And when life
is hard, we celebrate life is good. And when life is
good, we reach out to those whose life is hard.
We
are not big but we are a village. And a village is what
it takes.
Please, accept our invitation to visit our village. It
is a great place to raise a child, and so much more.
